I have a 20-punch bus pass with about 34 punches in it, and it still has unpunched spots. When I get on the bus, I hand my pass over, and the driver asks "are you getting a transfer?" I reply with "no thank you," then taking my pass back and saying "thank you." When getting off the bus, I'm always sure to thank the driver for the ride. The driver appreciates friendliness and manners, so they punch an already-punched spot on the pass. They don't do that with typically rude or antisocial passengers.
When eating out, I leave an about 20%-25% tip each time. Waitors remember me and often prioritize filling my cup or telling the chef to put extras on my plate. They stop to ask me how my day was, and if a customer fails to pay for their food, it's often offered to me.
My town is very littered, so I often go around picking up and throwing away the litter. I started to notice people walking around my property picking up litter, and I asked them what the service is for. They said they saw me in town picking litter, so they wanted to return the favour after they saw people had littered on my property. |
